Dr. Bettinger brings clinical, public health, and global health leadership to Medicaid. She is a KU faculty member and advocates for preventive care and vulnerable communities.

A retired nurse of nearly 50 years, Pickert assumed office in the Kansas House in January 2023. She is known for her healthcare-focused approach and community problem-solving in Wichita.

Senate Minority Whip
Serving since 2021, Democratic Senator Cindy Holscher represents Kansas’s 8th District in Johnson County, which includes much of central Overland Park. She serves as Senate Minority Whip and previously served in the Kansas House from 2017 to 2021.
Mallory Lutz
Mallory Lutz
Senate Little Government Relations
Mallory Lutz, a Topeka native and graduate of Washburn University, joined Little Government Relations in December 2018. Mallory holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Washburn University. She is a graduate of the Kansas Chamber’s 2021 Class of Kansas Emerging Leaders, and a 2022 honoree of Topeka’s Top 20 Under 40.

Dr. Smith is board certified in both pediatrics and clinical informatics. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Minnesota.
