New CARE Provider Training

It takes a team with a coordinated, comprehensive medical response to protect Kansas children from abuse and neglect. Child Abuse Review and Evaluation (CARE) Providers are specially trained to recognize abusive injuries and provide a medical evaluation for children ages five years and under when physical abuse or neglect is suspected.
Join colleagues from across the state for this FREE two-day training to learn more about becoming a CARE Provider. The training is open to any physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner licensed to practice in Kansas.
The CARE Network is a partnership between the Kansas Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics, KDHE, DCF, and Board-certified Child Abuse Pediatricians at Children’s Mercy Kansas City and University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita.
The training includes 13 hours of CME, breakfast and lunch both days, a networking dinner, travel and hotel for those more than 30 miles outside Wichita.
